The challenge
A brokerage and financial advisory firm with operations split across spreadsheets and manual processes: data copied from one place to another, controls that depended on not forgetting, information that did not reconcile across systems. Each process lived in a different spreadsheet and in the head of whoever ran it. Operations worked, but on the back of effort; and with every increase in volume, the risk of error grew.
